The School Suspension Intervention Programme (SSIP) exists as a vital limb of the Dispute Resolution Foundation (DRF) by supporting the goal of developing a peaceful culture in Jamaica. The SSIP does this by identifying at-risk young persons between the ages of 10-18, and provides them with child-friendly Alternative Dispute Resolution services and training. The exemplary Youth Peace Facilitators teach these students important lessons in: Conflict Resolution, Anger Management, Restorative Justice, Anti-Bullying, Self-Esteem, Peer Pressure, Goal Setting, Child Rights and Mediation. The core values of the SSIP, affirmation, communication, cooperation and respect, are engraved into the students that are served by the programme. These values have been identified by our competent Youth Programme staff members as vital to any hope of developing a peaceful culture.
